Joanne Pahamotang

Background

Joanne holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Saint Louis University in Baguio City, Philippines. She began her career in local television, then taught communication at the College of Nursing, Physiotherapy and Midwifery at Baguio Central University.

For more than a decade she worked as cabin crew for Saudi Arabia's flag carrier, which is where she learned to read a room quickly and to look after people who are far from comfortable — both of which turn out to be useful at a physiotherapy front desk.

In Canada she qualified as an insurance broker and completed Medical Office Administration at CDI College in Edmonton West, then worked as an office administrator before joining Vertex.

She travels whenever she can, and keeps a collection of paper bills, fridge magnets and keychains from the places she has been.
